JAMES A. ERWIN
SHARI L. ERWIN
James
Erwin is the founding partner in the law firm of Erwin & Associates,
LLC. The bulk of his practice consists of representation in real estate
and business matters. He is also Of Counsel to the Chicago litigation
boutique, Holman & Stefanowicz, LLC.
James graduated from De Paul University’s College of Law and
was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1992. In 2000, he was admitted
to the Ohio bar. While practicing as a sole practitioner, he attended
the Chicago Kent College of Law and earned a Masters in Tax Law in
1996. He is a member of the American Bar Association (Section of Taxation),
the Illinois State Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, the
Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association and the Hispanic Lawyers
Association of Illinois. He is licensed to practice in Illinois and
Ohio as well as before the United States Tax Court and the United
States Supreme Court.
In addition to the practice of law, James is a founding member of
Counselors’ Title Company, LLC, a real estate title insurance
agency with six offices in Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. He is also
the owner of Erwin Information Services, LLC, a company providing
accounting and bookkeeping services.
In keeping with the founding philosophy of the firm, James is committed
to furthering the integrity of the legal profession and this commitment
is evidenced by some of his services outside of the firm. He has served
as a volunteer attorney for Chicago Volunteer Legal Services (CVLS),
a provider of pro bono legal services for indigent clients and was
recognized by CVLS with its “Distinguished Service Award”
in 1999. He is also an active member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity,
an organization dedicated to serving law students, law schools, the
legal profession and the community by creating a network of law students
and lawyers focused on improving ethical standards, reducing professional
stress and highlighting achievement in the legal profession.
From 1996 through 1999, James taught paralegal courses in business
law, contract law and legal research and writing at the Harry S. Truman
College in Chicago.
Shari
Erwin graduated from De Paul University College of Law in 1996. She
is a member of the Illinois bar as well as the American Bar Association,
the Illinois State Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association and
the United States Tax Court bar.
Shari has worked extensively in the banking and accounting world.
Her experience includes positions with the Chicago Appeals Office
of the Internal Revenue Service and the international tax department
of Ernst & Young LLP. Prior to joining Erwin & Associates,
LLC, she worked at Chapman & Cutler, National Bank of Canada and
Commerzbank.

JASON GYLLING
ANDREA M. JARDINE
Jason
Gylling received his law degree from De Paul University College of
Law in 1995 and is a member of the Illinois bar and the Chicago Bar
Association.
Jason focuses on civil litigation and probate matters at Erwin &
Associates, LLC. He has been with the firm since 2000 and is highly
regarded for his technical writing ability and depth of knowledge
in the area of litigation.
Andrea Jardine joined Erwin & Associates, LLC in 2004. She received
her law degree from The New England School of Law, where her exceptional
credentials placed her on the Dean’s List, in 2001. Andrea was
also on the Dean’s List during her undergraduate years at Indiana
University, where she obtained a B.A. in Psychology.
Prior to joining Erwin & Associates, LLC, Andrea practiced in the
areas of elder law and other transactional matters. She also served
as a mediator in the Dedham, Massachusetts District Court and in the
Alternative Dispute Resolution department of the federal Environmental
Protection Agency.
Andrea is currently a member of the Illinois bar and also of the Chicago
Bar Association and Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association. She has
also trained in comprehensive organizational ombudsmanship through The
Ombudsman Association.
Andrea’s practice is principally in the area of real estate transactional
and litigation matters.
